Romeo Santos and Enrique Iglesias sweep with 10 and nine awards each, respectively.
The 2015 Billboard Latin Music Awards were jam-packed with big wins, A-list performances and heartfelt moments, as legends and rising stars came together for Latin music’s biggest night at the Bank United Center in Miami.
The ceremony, which aired live on Telemundo on Thursday (April 30), honored the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music, as determined by the actual sales, radio airplay, streaming and social data that informs Billboard‘s weekly charts during a one-year period from the issue dated Feb. 1, 2014 through this year’s Jan. 31, 2015 issue.
Romeo Santos, who happens to be the most nominated artist in the history of the Billboard Latin Music Awards, was also the biggest winner, taking home a total of 10 trophies, including artist of the year, songwriter of the year, producer of the year, top Latin album of the year and tropical album of the year (Formula Vol. 2), among others.

Enrique Iglesias, who followed closely with 19 nominations, was the night’s other big winner, clinching nine awards, including Latin pop album of the year (Sex & Love), Latin pop song of the year, airplay song of the year, hot Latin song of the year, and streaming song of the year on the strength of his mega-hit “Bailando” featuring Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona.
Latin urban sensation and relative newcomer to the charts J Balvin, a finalist in 12 categories, edged out his competitors in the Latin rhythm songs artist of the year, solo; Latin rhythm song of the year (“6 A.M.” featuring Farruko); the coveted artist of the year, new, categories.
Special honors went to Latin music icons Carlos Santana and Roberto Carlos, who were recognized with the Spirit of Hope award and Lifetime Achievement Award, respectively.
Social artist of the year went to Shakira — no surprise, since the Colombian superstar touts more than 100 million likes on Facebook alone, more than anyone on the planet.
